I like to save Chinese fortunes. You know, the ones in the cookies. But there’s not a lot of good ones these days. Or at least not at the local Chinese restaurant. No matter, though. I have plenty from the past. Here’s a few of my favorites:

You are going to have a very comfortable retirement.

Carve your name on heart and not on marble.

He who takes notes listens well.
(Which means I don’t listen well.)

Unexpected financial gifts surprise and delight you!

No one ever became wise by accident.

You have an ability to sense and know higher truth.
(Why, thank you.)

It is better to get something done late than never.
(I take this a little too seriously.)

You will soon receive an unusual gift.

Never contend with someone who has nothing to lose.

It is impossible to please everybody. Please yourself first.
(Just like Jesus. Wait a minute….)

A new romance is about to enter your life. Act on your first impulse.
(I think maybe I should not act on my first impulse. Just being honest….)

And my personal favorite…
You will inherit a large sum of money.
